Director of Human Resources

C2C Network, a North American church planting network and MB Mission, a global church planting mission, have recently merged to become one agency that is focused on inspiring, equipping and encouraging the body of Christ to plant and multiply churches locally, nationally and globally. We are looking for someone who is passionate about Jesus, desires to see the church engaged in mission locally, nationally and globally, and is someone who has Human Resources leadership expertise that can unleash people into their full potential.
 

Position Title:  Director of Human Resources

Responsible to:  C.E.O.

Purpose:  The Director of Human Resources provides strategic leadership for all the HR functions in the organization and oversees the duty of care for our workers in North American and Internationally.  As a newly merged global mission agency they will work alongside the senior leaders to develop and align HR systems and processes to organizational priorities and needs. The HR Director leads the HR team in implementing all aspects of the HR function, right down to the tactical and transactional level. She/he serves as a leader of change across the organization and as an HR advisor, coach and consultant to leadership, in support of organizational goals and objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Participate with senior leadership in identifying organizational needs and priorities and the role of HR in assisting and driving these priorities
  • Anticipate and identify future people-related issues to ensure strategies, programs and processes for all HR functions (e.g. recruitment, staffing, retention, performance management, succession planning, compensation, and change management) are consistent with the current and future needs of the organization
  • In consultation with senior leadership, review, revise and implement HR policies, processes and procedures in response to internal and external needs and in compliance with relevant employment and employment related legislation requirements
  • Assess our people related systems and processes across the organization for opportunities to streamline for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Provide advice and training where appropriate to managers and supervisors regarding current employment legislation, HR best practices, employee relations issues and performance management
  • Manage the organizational group benefits and pension plans
  • Oversee and monitor the payroll process regarding compensation, benefits administration and status changes
  • Ensure risk management policies/framework is sufficient and processes are in place to assure compliance
  • Oversee incident management process; ensuring incidents are appropriately documented & investigated and reported to appropriate levels of leadership
  • Maintain and update the Policies and Procedures
  • Liaise with legal counsel on HR and immigration issues as required
  • Supervise, direct and evaluate the human resources team with emphasis to team development, Biblical leadership, service orientation and collaboration


Qualifications

  • Growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to a local church
  • Sense of calling to church planting locally, nationally and globally
  • High leadership acumen based in Biblical convictions
  • Minimum 10 years of management experience, preferably in the human resources field
  • Certified Human Resources Professional designation is preferred
  • Experience working with relevant human resources systems across multiple environments
  • Superior judgment within a broad spectrum of HR functions and issues
  • Experience overcoming the issues inherent in a geographically dispersed organization with a demonstrated commitment to consistency, equity and transparency
  • Strong leadership and supervisory abilities, including goal accomplishment and work prioritization
  • Good interpersonal communication skills including listening, relating, diplomacy, tact and creative problem solving
  • Strategic thinker

Position Title:  Media Director

Responsible to:  Lead Team, Media & Mobilization

Purpose:  This role provides strategic leadership and creative direction for the brand of a newly merged mission agency focused on local, national and global church planting. In light of the merger, this role will need to develop and direct the communications strategy to both bring along current partners and supporters and lead the development and media team toward new opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic development of a new brand and key messaging for a newly merged mission agency planting churches in North America and around the globe
  • In conjunction with Lead Team Media, develop and implement a comprehensive and integrated strategic marketing plan for internal and external constituencies to promote the new brand and mission of the merged agency
  • Provide leadership to both a centralized media team and global network of media specialists
  • Provide strategic media resourcing for donor relations, major and planned giving
  • Provide hands-on leadership to the components of a marketing program, including but not limited to graphic design, market research, branding, writing, photography, videography, social media, and website design
  • Establish an overall culture of excellence in all aspects of the mission agency communications that strives for professionalism and to inspire individuals, churches and partners
  • Develop and manage the media budgets
  • Manage the overall communications calendar including project management for key campaigns and events
  • Establish and implement communication metrics that support the organizational outcomes defined in the strategic plan
  • Assure that market intelligence is received and analyzed to facilitate better integrated marketing communication decision making
  • Assist the President, C.E.O. and Partnership Development staff with media resources for representing the agency externally
  • Ensure all integrated marketing and brand development opportunities being pursued are consistent with the agency’s values and vision


Qualifications

  • A degree in Communications/Marketing/Development and at least ten years of progressive experience in the field, with preference given to experience in higher education
  • Knowledge of all aspects of marketing, communications
  • Ability to pursue, manage and monitor multiple integrated marketing and communications opportunities simultaneously to meet performance goals
  • Project management and additional skill related to marketing, which could include website development/management, writing, graphic design, videography, etc.
  • Proficiency in popular social media platforms and ability to generate analytic data measuring its impact
  • Ability to interpret analytic data to make informed decisions and optimize returns on investment
  • Strong leadership and supervisory abilities
  • Good interpersonal communication skills including listening, relating, diplomacy, tact and creative problem solving
  • Positive personal characteristics of attitude, flexibility, initiative, persistence, professional appearance and presentation, and team spirit

Controller

We are looking for someone who is passionate about Jesus, desires to see the church engaged in mission, and has expertise in Finance and Management. 
 

Position Title:  Controller

Responsible to:  C.F.O.

Purpose:  The Controller provides strategic leadership for all the financial and accounting functions in the organization. This person optimizes people, processes and procedures in the areas of accounting, payables, budgeting, financial forecasting, reporting, audits, compliance with legislation and oversees tax filings. Alongside the senior leaders of this newly merged global mission agency, they will play a significant role in developing, implementing and fine-tuning the process and structures. The Controller is someone who will flourish in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support the Finance team, and all day-to-day accounting and finance activities
  • Articulate, align and streamline finance-team best practices
  • Assist with research, analysis, recommendations, and ultimate implementation of new processes and technology
  • Provide multi-faceted support to the CFO
  • Stay current with evolving legislative landscape and ensure enterprise awareness of, and compliance with, legislative requirements


Qualifications

  • Growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to a local church
  • High leadership acumen based in Biblical convictions
  • 3-5 years related experience in the charitable sector
  • A Professional Accounting designation (or working towards one)
  • A full understanding of accounting principles and reporting standards
  • Familiarity with CRA regulations for charities
  • An excellent ability to communicate with warmth, professionalism and clarity, in writing and in person
  • A demonstrated ability to embrace new and emerging technologies
